Global warming is where there is a long stretch of time or it's a long-term affect of the globe's temperature being warmed or cooled for a long periods of time. Climate change however is a specific area being affected causing sea levels to rise, glaciers to melt, and causing many more natural disasters. I believe we should care about climate change because it is not only affecting our home but it is affected all of the animals homes too. Everyday I see on social media and on tv that there are fires burning and animals lives being taken. It is always something like this that I see and it makes me want to help more and more because for me it is really sad to see people loose their homes along with the wildlife loosing their home (the environment) too. My project demonstrates how Costa Rica helps the environment while dealing with the struggles of climate change. I show I know what climate change is in my project by showing what we can do individually to help support our environment around us on an everyday basis. My largest area for growth on this project was understanding what climate change is really doing to our earth and how serious it really is. Before this project climate change never really crossed my mind that much, where now it crosses my mind everyday because knowing about it makes me want to try and help all of the people and animals that are being affected by climate change. My greatest area of strength in this project was staying positive and persevering through it. During times it would get tough to do this project because of everyone's strong opinions and whenever people brought up politics I would try to avoid talking about it. When I was trying to come up with ideas for my project before I knew what I was doing I would share it with some of the students and they would either tell me I am wrong or they would just get very aggressive and so that made it very difficult for me and it really made me less confident in myself. So I am very sure my area of strength was perseverance because I ignored all of the people that put me down. I ended up making a slideshow that people couldn't get mad at me about and that I loved talking about at the exhibition.
My project was about the differences between teen female depression and teen male depression. I chose this as my topic because I am concerned about teen depression. In recent research I came across some articles about teen depression in females and how they are more prone to develop depression than teen males are. As a teen female it is important to me that parents and guardians are aware of this situation.
The greatest challenge I faced during this project was fully reading the articles I got all of my data from because I disagreed with some of the content that was in the articles and/or websites. I persevered and continued to read other articles by choosing to focus on the things that I did agree with.
The greatest success I had during this project was feeling confident about my final work. I felt confident about my final work because I thought it was well put together, it looked creative yet simple, and most of all I was very proud of the research that I did to make my infographic and the thought I put into it.
If I could make any changes or refinements to my current infographic I would change the way it looks. I wouldn't change any of the work that I have on my infographic. I would change the colors, patterns and I would change the layout a little bit. I want to change this because the way it looked on my computer was different than when it was printed out as the final copy. The colors looked very strange with the pattern I chose and it made the layout of my final infographic look busy and not very inviting to read.
